Know your mind;
feel your heart.

You're a smart cookie. I believe in your unique knowledge, insight, and wisdom.

My job is to ask the right questions--to help you articulate that knowledge by honing in on your core values, priorities, tender spots and big dreams. This involves understanding your history, your relationships, and your experience in the world. Taking on big questions and big emotions can feel overwhelming, and I am here to provide structure, space, and empathetic feedback.

I have this phrase that I bring to my practice which is “Know your mind, feel your heart.”  I know, I know!  A little corny, but hear me out.  Knowing your mind means understanding your lens, your thought patterns, what makes you anxious, what makes you joyful, and developing tools for managing those things.  Feeling your heart has more to do with your passion, your spirit, and the way that things feel for you--it’s almost like your gut--and that’s crucial too.  Your heart and your body carry wisdom, and we need to create the space to hear them out.  My practice is about understanding and affirming these different aspects of yourself, and integrating them in a way that makes sense for you.

My therapeutic approach includes the lens of attachment theory and family systems theory, as well as utilizing neuroscience to understand the brain and thought patterns.  My approach includes aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness and meditation, cultivating self-compassion, and the therapeutic use of humor, empathy and human connection.  I work with you to create a toolbox of techniques, resources, and approaches that you can start using immediately to take on those big decisions and to help manage those big feelings.

I believe that having someone to talk through the tough stuff with is a critical part of our wellness. I'm here with a toolbox, a flashlight and a helping hand, but you know the way.
